Cursussen

Presentations, lectures & courses for schools & adults in Dutch

KNVWS 't Gooi organizes lectures, presentations and courses in the Gooi & Eemland area. These vary from presentations and short courses for elementary and high school children to longer courses for adults. These presentations and courses are given in Dutch by members of the Workgroup Practical Astronomy who have been involved in amateur astronomy for many years and are happy to share their knowledge with you.

Cursussen voor scholen

Presentations, lectures & courses for schools & adults in English

At this time, the Royal Netherlands Association for Meteorology & Astronomy (KNVWS 't Gooi) itself does not give its presentations and courses in English. However, one of our members, Lynn van Rooijen-McCullough, who is currently also chairman of KNVWS 't Gooi, is a native English speaker who has lived in the Netherlands for more than 25 years. She has recently been accepted and started activities as a NASA/JPL "Solar System Ambassador" for the Benelux and northern Germany.

While this JPL-sponsored program is not associated with the KNVWS 't Gooi, KNVWS 't Gooi is pleased to provide an English alternative for its Dutch courses via this route. Lynn is happy to visit both schools and clubs to provide information in English (or Dutch) on JPL missions, past & present, including information on subjects such as the Shuttle Missions, Mars Rovers, Hubble, Cassini, Kepler and the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, to name only a few.

She is also present with her telescope during most of the KNVWS 't Gooi Star parties and will provide information in English at those events as well. For more information on the Solar System Ambassador Program & Lynn's participation, please click here. To contact Lynn directly, please click here.
